At the Second World Peace Congress Barcelona, delegate of the Black Lives Matter movement, Reverend Karlene Sekou Griffiths, will be presented with the prestigious Seán Mac Bride Peace Prize award. In the form of a silver medallion, the award symbolizes IPBs recognition and acknowledgement of BLMs immense contribution to the international peace movement and unwavering commitment toward achieving the freedom and liberation of oppressed individuals and groups around the globe.
The award will be presented at an in-person ceremony by IPB co-Presidents, Lisa Clark and Philip Jennings (virtual). Of special mention is the presence of and speech by prominent local Catalan Afro-feminist activist and author of “Ser Mujer Negra en España”, Laudatio Desirée Bela-Lobedde at the ceremony. Moderation for the evening will be provided by IPB Director, Reiner Braun.
We would like to acknowledge Quiet Quiet, the Berlin based goldsmith for donating the custom medallion made of fair trade materials.
