Not too long ago, Ghana was the envy of many nations the world over when it comes to Peace, Unity and Tranquility but currently, this enviable feat is under serious threat due to the recent spate of violent crimes that is traceable to The Proliferation of Small Arms in our country. A day hardly passes without news and rumors of spousal killings, ritual murders, kidnapping, mob actions and the likes. This makes me and for that matter everybody here present worry about the safety and welfare of ourselves, our children and loved ones. What is happening in our Sub-Region i.e. the activities of Boko Haram in Nigeria and it’s environs, the Political Unrest in Mali, Guinea etc. paints a very clear picture about how far violent crimes can go if allowed to fester hence the need to add our voice to the many voices who are crying out loud for Peaceful Co-existence among the citizens of this great Nation of ours.
