Join our roundtable discussion on US-China relations – Challenges and Prospects for Disarmament in Asia-Pacific with Dr. Joseph Gerson and Prof. Wang Danning.
Holding a PhD in Politics and International Security Studies, Joseph has published a number of books and articles on the security situation in the Southeast and taught, among others, at Tufts university and Regis college. He is President of the Campaign for Peace, Disarmament and Common Security (CPDCS) and Vice-President of the International Peace Bureau, co-founder of the Committee for a SANE U.S.-China Policy and convener of the U.S.-based Asia-Pacific Working Group.
Wang achieved her doctoral degree in anthropology in 2002 and has taught at three university in the US and Hong Kong before joining the China Women’s University (CWU) in Beijing. She held positions as associate director at the Gender Research Center at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and co-chair of Chinese Society of Women Studies (CSWS), a global NGO organized by scholars and activists in the field of women studies. A research fellow at Charhar institute, Wang also initiated a foundation in Hong Kong to catalyze the cultural exchanges along China’s Belt and Road project.
Anuradha Chenoy from India, Enkhsaikhan Jargalsaikhan from Mongolia (IPB Board Member) and Lee Junkyu (IPB Board Member) from South Korea will provide comments during this session.
